Courage

His Majesty is the friend and lover of courageous souls, so long as they proceed humbly and without trust in themselves.  I have never seen any such person hanging back on the road, nor have I ever seen a cowardly soul, even with the protection of humility, make as much progress in many years as the courageous make in a few.  It amazes me how much can be done on this road by spurring oneself on to great things.

(Satan) tells us directly, or makes us think, that we poor sinners may admire but must not imitate the deeds of the saints ... But we must reflect that, with God's help, we can strive to hold the world in profound contempt, to despise honors, and not to be attached to possessions.

- Teresa of Avila

As Paul said, let us set aside every weight or burden, and run the race with courage.  A rolling stone gathers no moss!
